1992 Cedar Lodge Nurs., New Plymouth NZL

A valuable Conifer proudly developed by Cedar Lodge and released to the N. Z market autumn 1992. ‘Dandelight’ is very adaptable and will perform well in any free draining position. Full sun or partial shade. Bright lemon-yellow during spring and summer turning light golden in winter. Compact, low spreading ground cover. Very hardy, including coastal winds. 50 cm high x 1.4 metres wide in 10 years in our Nursery/Garden. Cedar Lodge text.

                                                           Mitsch Nurs., Aurora OR USA

                                                           Juniperus chinensis ‘Daub’s Frosted’

Sport of Mordigan Gold. Does not burn in full sun. Outstanding border plant. Brilliant yellow new growth with shaded/older growth a light lime green. The two tone color and frosted texture of this plant is an eye catcher. When it is used as a border with other conifers it draws attention and contrast to green and gold conifers. While the plant is reported to be suitable in USDA zone 4 I live in zone 3. Where/when snow does not cover the plants for the winter I simply throw a small square of old landscape fabric over the plants to prevent burning in the early spring sun. It has a reported 10 year spread of 3-5 ft. The pictured plant was purchased as a 3 gal. and at the time of the picture was in the bed for 3 years. Ken Church text in ACS database.

Egy kínai boróka aranyos hajtásairól alkotott új fajta, melyet néhai Juhász József tulajdonos ültetett háza elé. Lassan növő, kúpos alakú, nagy díszértékű változat. Színét kiemelendő célszerű zöld növényekkel társítani.

A conical, golden-yellow coloured cultivar, which becomes in

winter a reddish-bronze clothing. Selected of seed, busy in

rooting in propagation process. The dry continental summer

and winter sun causes no damage in the plant. Can have a nice

future also in dry and cold areas. In 10 years will be 1-1,5 m

high. Original plant in the Tóth Gyula Nursery, Gödöllő HUN.

A növény 2004 évi magvetésből származik (a Tóth Gyula Faiskolában gyűjtött 5-6 Juniperus chinensis fajta összeporzásából származó vegyesen gyűjtött magból). Kúp alakú, aranysárga lombú, téli színe nagyon szép vöröses-bronzos. Dugványai jól gyökeresednek. Várható növekedése 10 éves korban kb. 1-1.5 m. Napégésre nem érzékeny, ezért szép jövő előtt áll.

Anyatő a Tóth Gyula Faiskolában található.

A tight bun form that Punnett got from the Arnold years ago. Very hard to root- 8 months or more from sticking to rooting is not uncommon and a lot can go wrong when that much time is involved. This is a very choice juniper for the rock garden.                                                            A soup-plate-like circle, 1 m high and 4 m diameter at an age

                                                           of 23 years.

One of the most incredible finds of the last decades in conifering. The reversion is gently sitting on the mother’s body. Green, the mother is silvery, grows more vivid as mother. Will be a dense bright green column, 1 meter in 10 years. Looks like a gothic sontower.
